The Dancers and the Felines

Sometimes my hobby takes me to places I've never thought I'd go, like a local dance studio and taking portraits of adorable, adoptable cats!

Siskiyou Dance Company decided to host a wonderful community event featuring some sweet kitties that needed homes and their very own talented dancers. I happened across the public invite and offered up my services, mostly due to my lack of artistic output these days! And boy, was I in for some challenges... but you know what they say, that which you work hard for results in some of your greatest feats!

It took four hours of shooting, (and an entire SD card!) but I knew leaving the studio that I captured some sweet moments between ballerinas, belly dancers and the cats. There was a LOT of retakes per pose, but sticking with it produced some awesomely memorable shots! And best of all, these images will be shared throughout the county in hopes of forever families adopting those feline friends of ours!

Gotta mention the plugs: If you, or someone you know, are interested in adopting a feline or two, contact Siskiyou Spay Neuter Program at (530) 926-1196 or their website www.siskiyousnip.org or even on Facebook! (They make it easy for ya!) Or, if you are interested in dance or fitness classes, contact Siskiyou Dance Company at (530) 408-6788 or on their Facebook as well! Laura has done a wonderful job with the options down in Weed, give her a call!
